Ancient Ayurvedic healing practices have been performed in India for more than 2000 years. Shirodhara is traditionally used to calm and restore the nerves, harmonize vata constitutions, release stored emotions and purify the mind. It is an application of warmed sesame oil infused with herbs gently poured over the forehead for an extended period of time. It is performed with the client laying face up in a relaxing environment. A calming scalp massage completes this ritual.
